Gavin Shaddick is a prominent academic currently serving as Pro Vice-Chancellor for the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering at Cardiff University since May 2024. Previously, Shaddick held significant leadership roles at Royal Holloway, University of London, including Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor (Partnerships and External Collaboration) and Executive Dean of the School of Engineering, Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Shaddick has extensive experience in environmental intelligence, notably as Director of the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Environmental Intelligence and Co-Director of the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence. Earlier roles at the University of Exeter included Deputy Director for the Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Chair of Data Science and Statistics, while a long tenure at the University of Bath established Shaddick as a leader in applied statistics and industry collaboration. With a PhD in Statistics and Epidemiology from Imperial College London, Shaddick's work focuses on enhancing international collaboration and advancing research in data science and environmental sustainability.
