Gina Policastro is a Senior Resin Development Manager and Staff Research Scientist at Carbon since December 2018, following roles as Senior Research Scientist at the same company. Prior to Carbon, Gina served as a Postdoctoral Fellow of Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego - Jacobs School of Engineering, focusing on the collaboration between the Christman and Gianneschi labs to develop targeted nanoparticle delivery systems for heart treatment. Additional experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Akron, where innovative research on bioresorbable polymer scaffolds for bone regeneration was conducted. Gina also contributed to synthesis and characterization of copolymer elastomers as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Warwick. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Polymer Chemistry from The University of Akron and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Washington & Jefferson College.
