John Celichowski has a diverse work experience that spans several organizations. John began their career in 2008 as the Provincial Minister at the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, a position they held until 2014. From 2013 to 2018, they also served as the President of the JPIC Commission for the Capuchin Franciscan Order. In 2014, they joined the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph again, this time as the Director of Initial Formation, and later took on the roles of Director of Continuing Formation and Director of Provincial Ministries and Human Resources. In 2017, they became the Pastor at St. Clare of Montefalco Parish, a position they held until 2020. John then went on to serve as the Dean of Deanery V-A at the Archdiocese of Chicago from 2018 to 2020. In 2020, they were appointed as the Director of the North American Pacific Capuchin Conference (NAPCC) Novitiate.
John Celichowski completed their education in a chronological manner. In 1976, they graduated from St. Lawrence Seminary with a high school degree. John then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 1980 to 1983, studying Political Science. In 1983, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. John'seducation continued at Catholic Theological Union, where they pursued a Master's Degree in M.Div. from 1989 to 1993. John went on to earn a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Georgetown University, completing their studies from 1997 to 2000. John also had a sabbatical at Gonzaga University, focusing on Religious Studies and Christian Leadership, although the dates are not specified.
