Socrates Morilla has extensive experience in the photography industry, with a focus on operations and logistics management. From January 2018 to March 2020, they worked at Capture Pod Studio, where they held the positions of Operations Manager and Event Logistics Manager. In these roles, they managed multiple offices, handled corporate accounts, conducted research and product development, and served as a Director of Photography.
Prior to that, Socrates worked as a Freelance Photographer starting in November 2006. Socrates then transitioned to become a Commercial Photography Assistant at an unnamed company in 2007, where they worked until December 2017. During this time, they assisted renowned photographers such as Annie Leibovitz and worked with prestigious publications including Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, and Sports Illustrated. Socrates'sresponsibilities included managing photographic equipment, lighting and set design, and achieving efficient and cost-effective photoshoot objectives.
In 2011, Socrates briefly served as an Equipment Manager - Studios and Equipment at Maps Production House. From August 2006 to November 2011, they were employed as a Photo Equipment Specialist at Splashlight, where they tracked and managed equipment orders, performed equipment repairs and maintenance, and submitted quotes to prospective clients.
Throughout their career, Socrates has demonstrated their expertise in the technical aspects of photography, equipment management, and successful project execution.
Socrates Morilla earned a Bachelor's Degree in Photography with a minor in Journalism from Barry University, where they studied from 2001 to 2006.
