Samir Daniels is an Actuarial Analyst at Capitec since June 2023, responsible for calculating and analyzing liabilities for various insurance products and assisting in database creation using AWS and SQL. Prior to this role, Samir served as an Actuarial Consultant at Sanlam from April 2019 to May 2023, focusing on the valuation of risk products using DCS and Prophet. Earlier experience at Sanlam also includes positions as an Actuarial Assistant, where responsibilities encompassed testing actuarial systems and calculating life policy values. Before entering the actuarial field, Samir worked as a Client Service Representative at Sanlam Investments and as a part-time teacher at Wynberg Boys' High School, teaching mathematics to twelfth-grade students. Samir's career began with an administrative role at Old Mutual South Africa, complemented by a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Cape Town.
