Craig Thom is an experienced professional in the field of clinical engineering and technical management, currently working at Canterbury District Health Board since March 2013, specializing in the performance testing and repair of electronic and precision medical/surgical equipment. Prior experience includes serving as a Service and Support Technician at Gaming Machine Distributors LTD from 2012 to March 2013, where bench repair of gaming equipment to component level was a key responsibility. From 1994 to 2011, Craig held various roles at Christchurch Casino, including Technical Manager, responsible for managing the gaming technical repair section and ensuring compliance with government regulations, as well as Senior Technician, leading a team and performing repairs on electronic gaming machines and associated equipment. Craig's technical career began in the New Zealand Army from 1987 to 1994 as an Electronics, Instruments, and Radar Technician, completing a 9000-hour apprenticeship in repairing military electronics equipment. Educational qualifications were obtained at the School of Electrical Mechanical Engineers between 1987 and 1994 and St Bedes College from 1982 to 1985.
