Heather Newton is a seasoned conservation professional with extensive experience in heritage management. Currently serving as the Fabric Projects Manager at Canterbury Cathedral since July 2023, Heather previously held the position of Head of Historic Carving at City & Guilds of London Art School from September 2020 to July 2023. Prior to that, Heather spent over three decades at Canterbury Cathedral, culminating in a role as Head of Conservation. Heather's early career included work as a Youth Worker at Project 45 from January 1981 to July 1984. Educationally, Heather holds an MSc in Conservation Management and Technology from Heriot-Watt University, a PGDip in Conservation from Weymouth College, and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Leeds Beckett University.
