Joshua Emig has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Joshua started their career as a Project Consultant at Front Inc. in 2005. Joshua then worked at Shop Architects as a Design Associate and later as the Director of the Applied Technology Group from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, they joined Auburn University as an Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Master of Integrated Design & Construction Program. Joshua held this position until 2012. From 2012 to 2015, they worked at Perkins + Will as the Director of the Digital Practice, where they focused on aligning work processes with technology and developing new technology capabilities. In 2015, they joined WeWork as the Head of Research and Development, and later became the Director of Product Management until 2020. In 2020, they joined Digifabshop as the Vice President of Projects & Design until 2021. Currently, they are working at The Canoa Supply Co. PBC, where they hold the position of Head of Product since February 2021, and previously worked as an Advisor from 2019 to 2021.

Joshua Emig completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English/Creative Writing at Lycoming College from 1993 to 1995. Later, from 2002 to 2005, they pursued and achieved their Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree in Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
