Mark Woods is a seasoned Geographic Information System Specialist with extensive experience in various roles related to GIS across multiple organizations. Currently, Mark works for Canal & River Trust, following a tenure at The Woodland Trust where Mark contributed to a major software transition post-cyber attack. Mark operates M Woods Consultancy Ltd. since 2016, successfully building relationships with recruiters and subcontractors. Previous positions include EIA GIS Delivery Lead at ERM, where Mark managed a large team and budget for an Environmental Impact Assessment, and GIS Analyst at Arup, where Mark led significant projects including Luton Airport Expansion and HS2. Mark's career began as a Geospatial Analyst in the British Army, with notable contributions during deployment in Afghanistan. Mark holds a Master of Science (MSc) in GIS and a Foundation degree in Applied Computing from Sheffield Hallam University.
