Matthew McInnes is an experienced marine engineering professional currently serving as a 2nd Engineer Officer on MY Octopus at Camper & Nicholsons since August 2021. Prior to this, McInnes worked for Vulcan Maritime from May 2011 to August 2021 as a 2nd Engineer Officer on one of the world's largest private survey/exploration yachts, participating in high-profile exploration missions utilizing sub-sea AUV and ROV equipment. McInnes began a career with Princess Cruises in September 2001, advancing from Cadet to senior watchkeeper and Hotel Engineer, and was notably involved in the build team for Ruby Princess. McInnes holds a Class 1 Chief Engineer Unlimited degree in Marine Engineering from Warsash Maritime Academy and a Higher National Diploma and GNVQ in Marine Engineering from South Tyneside Maritime College.
