Derek Koops currently serves as Vice President & General Manager at Cambrex, overseeing P&L for the Longmont, CO and Agawam, MA sites, which focus on early development API and drug product as well as environmental monitoring and testing support for the biopharmaceutical sector. Prior to this role, Derek held several key positions at Thermo Fisher Scientific, including Sr. Director of Product Development and Director of Pharmaceutical Development Services, managing operations in Oregon and leading PDS at the Whitby plant. Derek's earlier experience includes leadership roles at Patheon, Therapure Biopharma Inc., and Apotex Inc., where responsibilities encompassed project management and operations in pharmaceutical development. Derek's educational background includes a Master's degree in Biochemistry from McGill University and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Queen's University.
