Thomas Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Thomas began their career in 2003 at Pitney Bowes as a Sales Executive and District Solutions Sales Specialist, where they were responsible for maintaining and growing major accounts and leading the launch of a new machine. In 2005, they became District Sales Manager at Pitney Bowes, leading a team of sales professionals during a period of transition and natural disasters.

In 2006, Thomas joined Shire as a Professional Sales Representative in the Nephrology Specialty. Thomas quickly advanced through various roles and was promoted to Senior Sales Representative in the GI Specialty division. In this role, they were responsible for the successful launch of the Lialda product and served as an Interim Regional Director. Thomas also organized events and worked with medical societies.

Thomas continued to excel at Shire, eventually becoming Senior Regional Business Director. Thomas led a cross-functional team in the ultra-rare disease space and successfully merged representatives from two regions into one high-performing and inclusive team. Thomas was recognized for their leadership and business acumen, winning awards and serving as a leadership ambassador.

In 2019, Thomas joined Takeda as Senior Regional Business Director in the GI Rare Disease division. Thomas navigated company acquisitions, realignments, and the COVID-19 pandemic while leading and developing the Southeast region. Thomas achieved exceptional results and was recognized for their leadership, winning awards and being appointed as a GIBU Leadership Ambassador.

Most recently, in 2021, Thomas joined Calliditas Therapeutics AB as a Regional Business Director.
