Laura McGowan, PhD, currently serves as a Lecturer at California State University-Sacramento since August 2019, after holding the role of Climate Risk Modeling and Data Science at ClimateCheck from January 2022 to November 2023. Prior experience includes positions as a Research Assistant at the University of California, Davis from July 2013 to December 2019, and at Penn State University from September 2010 to June 2013, where research focused on urban emissions and atmospheric modeling. Laura McGowan also held the position of Public Relations Organizing Director for the Graduate Student Association Executive Council at UC Davis and was a Course Instructor for Global Climatology, overseeing a class of 70 students. Academic credentials include a PhD from UC Davis, an MS from Penn State University, and both a BA and MA from the University of Delaware, all in relevant fields of study.
