David M. Toston, Sr. currently serves as a Senior Advisor at the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence since January 2021. Previously, from June 2012 to January 2021, Toston held the position of Associate Superintendent at the El Dorado County Office of Education, where measurable successes were achieved in overseeing the El Dorado County SELPA and Charter SELPA, managing the distribution of $250 million in funding. Additionally, Toston worked as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Marymount University from January 2013 to December 2020, instructing a diverse student body in urban education. Earlier experience includes roles as Assistant Superintendent for SELPA at Sutter County Superintendent of Schools and Assistant Director of Special Programs and Services at Northwest Educational Service District 189. Toston is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership at the University of La Verne, building on a strong educational foundation that includes a Master’s degree in School Psychology and credentials in Educational Leadership from Western Washington University.
