Austin Friesen is an experienced professional in event management and sports presentation, currently serving as Supervisor of Engagement and Events for Cougars Athletics and Recreation at Mount Royal University since March 2022. In this role, Austin plans and manages various departmental and varsity events, overseeing substantial budgets ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. In addition to this position, Austin has been involved with Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation since September 2018, contributing as a Game Day Director and Assistant for major sporting events, while also coordinating in-game promotions with the marketing department. Previous experience includes a communications internship with the Western Hockey League and media roles with Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club. Austin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Saskatchewan and is pursuing an MBA at Haskayne School of Business.
