Pranav Ghai has worked in the finance industry since 1995. Pranav started their career at TIAA-CREF as a Quantitative Analyst, where they measured portfolio performance and analyzed returns to forecast portfolio risk exposure. In 2000, they joined ITG as an Associate, where they supported all aspects of ITG proprietary mean/variance optimizer for institutional money managers and advised clients on financial and operational risks. From 2006 to 2010, they worked at Morgan Stanley as a Vice President ModelWare/Quantitative and Derivative Strategies, where they developed and maintained a holistic trading approach and built analytics to enhance the use of fundamental signals as a risk management tool for clients. In 2010, they became a Senior Analyst at Cura Capital Management, LLC and a Member of the Technical Computing Advisory Board at Microsoft. In 2011, they co-founded Calcbench, a financial analytics tool-kit powered by XBRL with a web based front end, an excel add-in, an API and over 500 Million data points in the cloud. In 2016, Pranav joined XBRL US, Inc. as a Board Member and in 2018, they became a Member of the Corporate Disclosure Policy Council at the CFA Institute.
Pranav Ghai received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bates College between 1989 and 1993. Pranav then went on to obtain an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University between 1995 and 1999.
