James Ruane is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in private equity, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and capital solutions. Currently serving as Managing Director and Vice-President of Capital Solutions at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) since January 2022, James oversees international business operations across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Previously, James led European private equity investments at Bayview Asset Management, LLC, and held the position of Global Head of Corporate M&A at Deutsche Bank, where key strategic initiatives were driven. James's background also includes notable roles at Apax Partners, Travelex, J.P. Morgan, and a foundational experience as a Summer Associate at McKinsey & Company. Academically, James holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and undergraduate degrees in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin and Université catholique de Louvain.
