Marquel Sennet, M.A., currently serves as the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Caddo Parish School District, a position held since December 2022. Prior to this role, Marquel worked as an Adjunct History Instructor at LSU Shreveport for a brief period in 2022 and served in various communication roles for the City of Shreveport, including Director of Communications & Public Affairs and Director of Communications from February 2021 to December 2022. Marquel also held academic positions at Southern University at Shreveport as History Program Coordinator and Assistant History Professor from January 2017 to March 2021, following a career in media as a News Anchor, Reporter, and Producer at Nexstar Media Group, Inc. from January 2008 to February 2021. Marquel holds a Master of Arts in Social Sciences with an emphasis in history from Grambling State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of North Texas.
