Akash Sebastian is an accomplished professional in the field of analytics and software engineering, currently serving as the Director of Analytics at BYU Athletics since June 2024. Previously, Akash held coaching analyst positions with the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz and contributed as a software engineer at BETSPARKET and Blinkfire Analytics, Inc., where responsibilities included building data ingestion libraries and frontend applications. Earlier experiences include a basketball analytics internship with the Sacramento Kings, where performance data was analyzed, and a research fellowship at the University of Mississippi focused on emotional detection through machine learning. Akash began a professional career with internships in big data, data engineering, and front-end development, earning a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
