Paula Agutter has extensive work experience in the water industry. Paula started their career as a Research Scientist at BBSRC in 1998. Paula then joined Veolia Water, where they worked as a Research Engineer and later as a Senior Research Engineer, specializing in water quality. Paula then became a Research and Development Manager at Veolia Water, responsible for managing the Water Quality research group and strategic planning of innovative projects.
In 2006, Paula joined Thames Water as a Water Quality Consultant, providing technical assistance and expertise on water quality management and treatment operation. Paula also ensured compliance with best practices and company policies.
Paula then worked at QT Education Ltd as a Mathematics Teacher, where they completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. During this time, they also enhanced their time and people management skills.
Currently, Paula is the Head of Water Regulation and Compliance at BUUK Infrastructure. Paula is responsible for water and wastewater regulatory compliance, including water resource and drought management planning, water quality compliance, and liaison with regulators, public health teams, and water companies.
Paula Agutter obtained their Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (MEng) from Imperial College London in the years 1989-1993. Paula then pursued a Master's degree (MSc) in Biochemical Engineering at UCL, which they completed during the academic year 1993-1994. Paula further advanced their education at UCL by successfully completing a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from 1994 to 1998.
