Steve Parker is a retired non-practicing attorney who served as an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney's Office from November 1984 until March 2015, where roles included Chief of the Civil Rights and Law Enforcement Corruption Unit and assignments within the White Collar and Financial Crimes Unit and Anti Terrorism Section. Parker was notably appointed Lead Counsel in the civil rights prosecution of a state judge in a sexual assault case. Prior to this role, Parker contributed to the Whitewater Investigation as Associate Independent Counsel, leading the re-investigation of the death of Vincent Foster. Parker's career began as a police officer with the Memphis Police Department from January 1978 to January 1985, where responsibilities included uniform patrol and training. Education includes a Juris Doctor from The University of Memphis—Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Memphis.
