Farouk Umar is currently an Analyst at BlackGen Capital, specializing in consumer and retail sectors since January 2024. In addition, Farouk has served as an Opinion Section Writer for the Princeton Political Review since March 2021. Farouk gained valuable experience as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs from June 2022 to August 2024, focusing on the Financial Institutions Group during three consecutive summers. Previous to this, Farouk was an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for the Operations Research and Financial Engineering Department at Princeton University from September 2021 to September 2022, assisting with the course ORF245. Farouk participated in a Quant Trading Program at Jane Street in May 2021. Farouk is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University, expected to graduate in 2025, and previously completed A Levels at Concord College from 2018 to 2020.
