John McTernan is a seasoned communications and political strategy expert with an extensive career spanning over a decade. Currently serving as a Senior Adviser at both Burson and BCW Global, McTernan has previously held significant roles such as SVP/Head of International Political at Penn Schoen Berland, Chief of Staff to Jim Murphy at the Scottish Labour Party, and Director of Communications for the Prime Minister's Office. McTernan also contributed as a columnist for The Scotsman and operated as a self-employed strategist and writer. An alumnus of The University of Edinburgh, McTernan holds a MA(Hons) in English and has been recognized for impactful contributions in both governmental and advisory capacities throughout their career.
