Susanne Shavelson currently serves as the Director of Operations at Burnham Root since January 2021. Prior to this role, Susanne Shavelson was the Associate Director at the Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education at Brandeis University from September 2009 to January 2021, where responsibilities included functioning as the COO for the research center and partnering to develop strategic plans. Previously, Susanne held the position of Assistant Director for Communications at the same center, focusing on communications strategies to enhance outreach. From 2006 to 2010, Susanne was the Managing Director for Shavelson Associates, providing grantwriting and editorial services to nonprofits. Earlier in the career, Susanne served as Assistant Director for the Institute for Informal Jewish Education at Brandeis University from 1993 to 2006, where administrative leadership and support for Jewish educators were emphasized. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Master of Arts in American Culture from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, in American Studies and English from Tufts University.
