Leah Soccio is a skilled professional currently serving as the NSW Community Engagement Officer at the Bureau of Meteorology since November 2021. Previously, Leah held the position of Recovery Engagement Officer at the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development, where support was provided to communities impacted by the Black Summer Bushfires. Leah's experience includes project support in Strategic Emergency & Disaster Management and a role as a Bushfire Assessor with The Salvation Army. Additionally, Leah contributed as a Research Assistant at Western Sydney University, focusing on migrant and refugee settlement, and completed an international field placement at the National Disaster Risk Reduction Centre, assessing project outcomes for disaster safety initiatives. Leah holds a Bachelor's degree in Humanitarian and Development Studies from Western Sydney University.
