Alan Gelber is a highly experienced geologist with a strong background in various specialized areas of geological research and analysis. Currently serving as a Staff Geologist at I.G.E.S. since October 2022, Alan previously worked as a Physical Scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey, where responsibilities included programming for data loggers and statistical analysis of water quality data. Prior experience includes research roles at Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, a Sedimentologist position during an IODP expedition, and wellsite geology positions with Brara Geological Services and Terriwillger Consulting. Alan holds a Master of Science in Geology from California State University-Sacramento, along with additional post-baccalaureate education in Marine Geobiology and Environmental Chemistry, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Montana State University-Bozeman.
