Arun Pucchakayala is a Scientist-D at the Bureau of Indian Standards since July 2021, focusing on standard formulation and serving as Member Secretary for sectional committees related to steel products and nanotechnologies. Previously, Arun served as Scientist-C from January 2013 to June 2021, managing policy matters for BIS Conformity Assessment Schemes for Metallurgical Engineering Products, and as Scientist-B, assisting in product certification at the Mumbai Branch Office. Arun's early experience includes roles as a PhD student at Forschungszentrum Jülich and a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the University of Bayreuth, where research involved heterogeneous nucleation in alloy systems, along with a student internship at GE Global Research Center. Arun holds an M.Tech Integrated Dual degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology BHU, completed in 2010.
