Mayra is an associate with a focus on early-stage startups on the construction tech space at the different stages of the project lifecycle. Having grown up in a construction family, she learned from a very early age the different challenges of the industry. Mayra began her career in construction as a control project manager at commercial and mining projects, where she was able to apply lean construction concepts and work with different construction softwares, including BIM tools. With this background, Mayra brings to Building Ventures key insights from the field and a deep understanding of the different stakeholders in the industry.
Prior to joining Building Ventures, Mayra worked as strategy lead at Stanley X, the innovation division of Stanley Black and Decker. During her tenure, she contributed to shape the construction technology strategy of Stanley Black and Decker, working across multidisciplinary teams and C-level focusing on investment, acquisition, and partnerships. Previously, Mayra was the head of product at HoloBuilder (acquired by Faro Technologies in 2021). Mayra joined HoloBuilder pre-seed and helped build the product from zero to one. During her time at HoloBuilder, she was able to learn and apply different technologies—including virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and robotics—to solve different construction challenges. Having been a part of a successful early-stage startup, she shares her insights with Building Ventures portfolio companies.
