Emily Donato is a Senior Program Manager at BUILD, a national youth development organization that equips young people with the skills they need to succeed in school, work, and life.
Emily has over six years of experience working with youth in various capacities. Emily began their career as a Public Allies AmeriCorps Apprentice, where they served as a mentor and tutor for high school students in the Pittsburgh area. Emily then went on to work as a Career Coach and Service Learning Coordinator at Nazareth Prep, a Catholic high school in Pittsburgh. In this role, they oversaw the school's service learning program and helped students explore and prepare for careers after graduation.
In July 2019, Emily began working at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania as the Manager of Career Development. In this role, they oversaw the Career Works program, which provides career exposure and preparation for 200 teens annually across 11 sites in Allegheny and Somerset counties. Emily was responsible for executing the requirements of private, state, and federal grant funds; managing relationships and outreach initiatives with corporate and community-based partners; and providing management and training for eight career coaches.
Emily is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential. Emily is a strong advocate for education and career development opportunities for all youth, regardless of background or circumstance.
Emily Donato has a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Theatre Dance from The College of Wooster, and a certification from the Restorative Justice Institute of Atlanta in Restorative Justice. Emily is currently pursuing a degree in Dance Anthropology, Hawaiian Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
