Thulasi Warrier is a Senior Research Scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard since January 2018, focusing on developing and characterizing in vitro models of viable but non-culturable Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Prior to this, Thulasi held various positions at Weill Cornell Medical College, including Instructor and Research Scientist, where significant contributions involved optimizing assays for detecting VBNC bacterial sub-populations and identifying novel small molecule inhibitors against non-replicating Mtb. Thulasi's research experience also includes a PhD from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, with a focus on Mycobacterium tuberculosis enzyme inhibition, and formative research roles at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology and the National Centre for Biological Sciences. Thulasi earned a Master's degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
