Lei Wang currently serves as Deputy Director at CCOP - Research Centre on Urban Geology and has held the position of President at the UK China Association of Resources and Environment since October 2018. Lei holds extensive experience in academia and research, being a Visiting Professor at Jilin University and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Lei is also a Senior Scientist at the British Geological Survey, where the focus is on developing mathematical models for hydrological processes. Previous roles include High Research Officer at the British Geological Survey, and Development Manager for Engineering Products at Shenzhen Careland Information Systems Co., Ltd. Education includes a PhD in Environmental Hydrogeology from Cardiff University and a PhD in Geo-Environment Information Management from Jilin University, alongside further degrees in GIS and Applied Geophysics.
