Karen Diamond

Director, Professional Affairs at BAMT

Karen Diamond currently serves as the Director of Professional Affairs at the British Association for Music Therapy since July 2023, and holds the position of Non Executive Director at the NI Practice & Education Council from January 2022. As Co Director of Resilient Rhythms since May 2021, Karen promotes self-regulation and well-being through music via workshops and staff training. In December 2015, Karen established Karen Diamond Music Therapy Services, providing music therapy services and resources focused on well-being. Additionally, since September 2019, Karen has served as an Associate Lecturer at St Mary's University College Belfast and has directed the Equal Notes Choir since April 2017, a community choir for adults with learning disabilities. Prior to these roles, Karen was the Clinical Services Director at NI Music Therapy Trust from September 1990 to December 2015, where management and strategic development of music therapy services were key responsibilities. Karen holds a B Mus in Music from Queen's University Belfast and has educational qualifications from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Anglia Ruskin University.
