Nathan Friendly has a diverse range of work experience. Nathan is currently employed as a Principal Software Development Engineer at BRINC since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Amazon from 2021 to 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer on the Mobility Team at Amazon Canvas - Autonomous Warehouse Robots. In this role, they redesigned the motion control team's architecture to support multiple robotics platforms and control algorithms and validated the performance of an external vendor's robotics platform.

Before that, Nathan worked at Amazon from 2014 to 2020, first as a Senior Software Engineer on the Avionics Firmware team at Amazon Prime Air. In this role, they implemented microcontroller applications and drivers for distributed sensing and actuation systems. Nathan was also responsible for all non-motor distributed systems for the first generation delivery vehicle. Later, they transitioned to the role of Hardware Design Engineer on the Avionics Hardware team, where they designed and implemented various circuit boards and automated battery charging stations.

Additionally, Nathan has previous experience as an Electrical Engineering Intern at ReconRobotics, Inc. in 2013, where they wrote code for microcontrollers in small robots and designed prototype circuit boards. Nathan also worked as an R&D Intern at Medtronic in 2012, where they conducted use condition tests for flexible catheters and assisted in design verification testing.

Nathan Friendly attended Minnetonka High School from 2006 to 2009. Nathan then went on to Dartmouth College where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Engineering Sciences from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Dartmouth College from 2009 to 2014.
