Steven McCanne is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in software development and strategic consulting. Currently serving as the Coding CEO at Brim Data since January 2018, McCanne previously contributed to organizations such as Corelight, Inc. as a Board Member and co-founded Tidepool.org, where collaboration on diabetes management technology occurred alongside a medical research team at UCSF. As Founder & CEO of Jut and CTO & Co-Founder of Riverbed Technology, McCanne was instrumental in pioneering a billion-dollar market in enterprise WAN optimization. Early career roles include serving as CTO at Inktomi and FastForward Networks, where McCanne advanced innovations in internet technologies. Academic contributions include tenure as an Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley and research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory with significant developments in multimedia communication protocols. McCanne holds a PhD in Computer Science and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
