Monica Powers has extensive work experience in the library sector. Monica served as the Director of Amityville Public Library from March 2017 to February 2022. Prior to this role, Monica held two positions at Brentwood Public Library, starting as the Head of Youth Services in October 2008 and later assuming the role of Head of Publicity from January 2016. Earlier in their career, Monica retired from Amitlyville Public Library in March 2021.

Monica Powers has a Bachelor's degree in English and General Literature from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Monica also holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from LIU Post, with a concentration in Library Science and Administration.
