Iqra Mahmood, Esq. is a dedicated legal professional currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Bread for the City, providing immediate legal advice and representation in paternity and child support cases since March 2021. Prior experience includes handling housing conditions cases as a Student Attorney at the UDC Law General Practice Clinic and teaching Federal Rules of Evidence as a Teaching Assistant at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. Iqra gained valuable experience as a Summer Law Clerk with the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, representing inmates in Disciplinary Hearings, and as a Student Attorney at Rising for Justice, focusing on misdemeanor cases. Additionally, Iqra interned at the American Federation of Government Employees, conducting research on labor laws and assisting with grievances. Iqra earned a Juris Doctor from UDC Law and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
