Jakirul Islam holds extensive experience in the banking and financial services sector, currently serving as Executive Vice President & Head of SME Strategy Innovation & New Business at BRAC Bank PLC since January 2023. Prior roles include Senior Vice President at Bank Asia Limited, where leadership involved managing digital banking projects and introducing Bangladesh's first Digital/Neo Bank. As Country Program Manager at MicroSave, Jakirul engaged key stakeholders in the digital financial services space in Bangladesh. Other notable positions encompass senior project management roles in financial technology initiatives across multiple organizations, including Mercantile Bank Limited and Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited, contributing to innovative solutions in mobile banking and digital financial services. Jakirul earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Dhaka and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Independent University, Bangladesh.
