Sam J. has a diverse work experience in various industries. They were a Founding Board Member at Lexicon Bank starting in 2018. Prior to that, Sam held multiple roles at Boyd Gaming from 2006 to 2019, including Vice President of Business Improvement, Director of Business Improvement, Director of IT Business Administration, Director of Program Development, and Director of Development. They were also a Manager at Huron Consulting Group from 2004 to 2006 and a Senior Associate from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, Sam worked as a Consultant at Arthur Andersen from 2000 to 2002.

Sam J. obtained an MBA degree in Business from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2000, they earned a BBA degree in Finance with a second major in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame.
