Michael Kwan Yu Chan is a co-founder and co-CEO of Bowtie Life Insurance Company, which holds the distinction of being the first licensed virtual insurance company in Hong Kong. Since August 2018, Bowtie has focused on directly providing insurance protection to a new generation of consumers. In addition to this role, Michael serves as a Director at Bowtie & JP Health, a clinic emphasizing preventive health and wellness. Michael's entrepreneurial journey includes co-founding Seasonalife, a fintech platform for insurance brokers, and Coherent, a global SaaS company in the financial services sector. Prior actuarial consulting experience includes positions at PwC and EY, where Michael contributed to analytics initiatives and retirement income offerings. Initial experience in finance includes an analyst role at Lehman Brothers, focusing on insurance investments and securitizations. Michael holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo, has completed a Global Management program at Harvard Business School, and participated in an exchange study in Mathematical Finance at ETH Zürich.
