Steve Gaines has been serving as the editor of the Bowling Green Daily News since January 1, 2022, following a career that began in 2001 as a reporter and editorial page editor, where coverage included general assignment stories and local government meetings. Prior to their tenure at the Daily News, Steve worked as a dock and deck hand at San Roc Cay in Orange Beach, Alabama, shortly after moving to the area with a friend. Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Environmental Sciences with a focus on interdisciplinary studies from The University of Alabama, after graduating with a high school diploma from Bowling Green High School in 1994.
