Ahmed Elibiary

Co-Founder and CTO of Botany Labs at Botany Labs

Ahmed Elibiary has had a varied career in the engineering and technology fields. In 2010, they began their career as an intern at BP, where they learnt the basics and the day-to-day running of an oilrig. In 2012, they worked as an IT technician at Nakhla Tobacco, where they were trained to look for errors along the production line, observe how technicians fix and maintain the workstations, and work with their hands along with using specialized programs. In 2013, they completed a nine week internship at HP, specialized in the mass manufacturing and testing of inkjet printer cartridges. Ahmed also attended several workshops that helped him in several aspects in the workplace. In 2014, they worked as a Writing Systems Engineer at HP. In 2017, they worked as a 3D printing Engineer at iMakr, where they were responsible for 3D printer maintenance of FDM machines along with printer calibration and troubleshooting. Ahmed also conducted research into a range of different printing materials for FDM machines and presented tutorials on 3D printing processes and software tools. In 2019, they worked as a 3D Printing R&D Engineer at HP, where they worked well independently and on a team to solve problems, performed thorough research for planning purposes, and developed and optimized algorithms to improve productivity in sub-system alignment. Most recently, in 2020, they became Co-Founder and CTO of Botany Labs.

Ahmed Elibiary completed a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from the University of Kent between 2011 and 2016, with a field of study in Electronic & Communications Engineering with a year in Industry. Ahmed then went on to complete a Master of Science (MSc) from the University of Kent between 2016 and 2017, with a field of study in Electronic and Communications Engineering.
