Abimael Melendez is a seasoned music educator and string program director currently at Homer OPUS since September 2022, and serves as a fellow teacher at the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra since March 2022. Previous experience includes teaching positions at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Salvador Bustamante Celi from November 2018 to July 2021, as well as a long tenure as a violinist with Orquesta Sinfonica de Aragua from October 1997 to July 2018 and as a violin teacher with El Sistema Venezuela from 2011 to 2018. Abimael Melendez holds a Master of Music in Music Education from the Longy School of Music, a Doctor of Education in Science Teacher Education from Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua, a Master of Education from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes (UNEARTE).
