Mike Rufo began their work experience in 1996 as a Mechanical Engineer II at PRI Automation. From 2000 to 2002, they worked as a Senior Staff Engineer (Mechanical) at iRobot. From 2002 to 2007, they worked at Foster-Miller as a Senior Engineer, where they served as a Principal Investigator, Project Manager, and Lead Mechanical Engineer on various defense projects. In 2007, they joined Boston Engineering as the Director of the Advanced Systems Group and Principal Engineer/Roboticist. Mike later became the Vice President of Research and Development, responsible for technology development and IP commercialization in areas such as oceanographic devices, robotics systems, and autonomy.
Mike Rufo has a strong educational background in engineering and project management. Mike attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1992 to 1996. Mike then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, studying there from 2003 to 2007. In addition to their degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mike also obtained a Certificate in Project Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, completing the program from 2004 to 2007.
