Maya Bird-Murphy is the Founder and Executive Director of Mobile Makers, a nonprofit organization established in 2017 that promotes accessible design education and has received features in prominent publications such as Dwell and Architectural Record. In addition to leading Mobile Makers, Maya Bird-Murphy serves as faculty at the Boston Architectural College and has held faculty positions at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Previous roles include Marketing and Business Development Coordinator at HPZS, Teaching Artist at Marwen, and Architecture Adventure Program Coordinator at the Oak Park Education Foundation. Maya Bird-Murphy's architectural career began with internships at Wheeler Kearns Architects and Kil Architecture + Planning, followed by positions as Marketing Coordinator at Valerio Dewalt Train Associates and Architectural Designer at Landon Bone Baker Architects. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Ball State University.
