Ronald Fairbanks is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the plastics and recycling industries. Currently serving as Group Expert for Borealis Polyolefins since September 2023, Ronald has held significant leadership roles, including General Manager of Viridor Polymers, overseeing Europe's largest plastics recycling operation, and Engineering Director at AVI Limited, a major producer of consumer products in South Africa. Previous positions at Mpact Pty Ltd encompassed roles as General Manager of Polymers and closures, and Divisional Technical Manager for the Plastics division, where Ronald developed strategies to enhance profitability and operational efficiency. Early career experience includes positions as Manufacturing Manager at Mpact Limited and Project Engineer at SANS Fibres. Ronald holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, an MBA from Stellenbosch Business School, and a B.Com. in Business and Operational Management from the University of South Africa.
