Sam McCoubrey is an experienced professional in the energy trading and commercial sector, currently serving as a Commercial Originator at Boralex Inc. since September 2024. Prior to this role, Sam worked at Flexitricity from February 2022 to September 2024 as a Trading Operations Lead and Energy Trader. Sam also gained significant experience at SSE plc as an Energy Trader from November 2020 to February 2022, managing a short-term energy portfolio. Earlier career roles include positions at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH, where Sam completed a Commercial Graduate Scheme with rotations in Commodity Solutions and Risk Controlling Trading, as well as a placement in Short Term Trading and Ancillary Services. Sam's early experiences include internships at North Yorkshire County Council and the Royal Bank of Scotland, complemented by a master's degree in Economics from Heriot-Watt University earned in 2018.
