Vladimir Balabanov

Technical Fellow at Boeing

Vladimir Balabanov is an experienced professional in aerospace and applied mathematics with a significant background in higher education and industry. Since January 2005, Vladimir has served as a Lecturer at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in geometry, linear algebra, and systems analysis. In parallel, Vladimir holds a position as Technical Fellow at Boeing since June 2008, focusing on the development of optimization methods for composite structures. Prior to Boeing, Vladimir was a Senior Engineer and VisualDOC Product Manager at Vanderplaats R&D, where leadership and technical expertise were applied to advance optimization software systems and collaborate with military and industry clients. Vladimir began the academic career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech, earning a Ph.D. in Aerospace, and previously worked as a Research Engineer at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute in Russia. Educational qualifications include an MS in Aerospace from Virginia Tech and an MS in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
