Fidel Ramirez is a highly experienced professional in the fields of bioinformatics and data science, currently serving as Senior Principal Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim since May 2018, where responsibilities have included leading research projects and coordinating interdisciplinary teams. Concurrently, Fidel Ramirez contributes as an open-source contributor to Scanpy, focusing on the visualization of single cell data. Previous roles include Senior Bioinformatician/Data Scientist at the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, where efforts centered on NGS data analysis and development of new methodologies, as well as a Research Scientist in Bioinformatics at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, where integration of genetic and proteomic data into databases was achieved. Earlier career achievements include leading web development projects at Webenlinea S.A. and serving as a database developer at RF Labs EU. Fidel Ramirez holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the Max Planck Institute for Informatics and a degree in Biology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
