Michael Hayward has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael began their career in 1990 as a Software Engineer at Electronic Data Systems, where they worked until 1996. Following this, they worked as a Consultant at NIKŪ Corporation from 1996 to 2001. In 2002, Hayward joined BMW Group Financial Services Canada as an IT Manager, a role they held for 15 years. Michael later transitioned to the position of Business Enabling and Transformation Manager at the same company in May 2017, where they continue to work.

Michael Hayward completed their Bachelor's degree in Forest Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, from 1983 to 1987. Following this, they pursued a BBA degree from the same university, from 1988 to 1989.
