Leigh Schouten has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and IT management. They began their career as a Computer Engineer at BlueScope in 1992, where they worked until 2000. In 2002, they joined Bluescope Steel and held various roles such as IS Analyst, Network Service Delivery Manager, and Cyber Security Analyst until 2022. Their most recent position is the Global Lead Network Security at BlueScope, which they started in August 2022.

Leigh Schouten obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computing from the University of Wollongong, which was completed between 1992 and 1998. They also pursued certifications in various fields, including Certified Cloud Security Professional from The Knowledge Academy, and completed courses on Auditing Networks, Perimeters, and Systems as well as Security Essentials from the SANS Technology Institute.
